My Trash-Bag Foster Kittens, Days 8, 9, and 10

I need to stay more on top of things – I’m writing this on the day they are 13 days old – I’ll never keep up this way 😉

First the punchline: Everyone is doing GREAT! YAY! That’s not always the case with bitty babies this little, so that’s very good news when it is the case!

Day 8

So as you can see by the above photo, Day 8 was spent sleeping, mostly.

Sleeping is seriously business when you’re this tiny, sometimes you have to rearrange until you get JUST SO before calling it a night!

Claire did get her eyes all the way open – yay!

And Minnie started peeking out in earnest!

IMG_1201

Having eyes, and being a kitten, even a tiny one, does mean that some practice rasslin’ must occur!

And growing means walking practice, too!

And let’s be clear, for the rest of the days, and probably forever more, Minnie is WORKING the cute! She is all about showing her belly off and playing whappy paws!

But it was a lot of sleeping – and Pampi helped!

Day 9

Claire is definitely looking where she’s going! I love it when their eyes are open – you can see their little souls or personalities or something, in there!

IMG_1254

Sleeping is still very much on the agenda. Especially with such fat bellehs!

IMG_1247

Oh Claire – you beauty!

IMG_1244

Do you know how we make fat kitten bellies? Monte sure does! It’s tricky to film this one-handed, but he was SO latched on, I managed a short video of it:

Did I mention the BELLIES?! :)

IMG_1240

Also, at a measly 9 days old, they’re already self-grooming! Terribly cute!

IMG_1258

A friend of mine who makes fantastic beds and other kitty stuff made up a special order of bitty baby beds for my tinies that I foster. They arrived … and Pampi promptly decided he was quite the right size for them!

IMG_1246

Poor Pampi – he WANTS to play with his babies! They have such lovely twitchy tails!

He can’t really play with them, so he’ll go curl up in his new bed, which he fits JUST FINE!

IMG_1260

Everyone’s only getting cuter! This is my lap on kittens on day 9!

And so, in order to prove the point – let’s see, can they get cuter still on…

Day 10

The first couple of weeks are really critical in raising infant kittens, and this is a REALLY great growth chart for a litter of three. I find data like this *almost* as cute/wonderful as the photos :)

There is still a lot of sleeping on Day 10. But I think it’s getting cuter! The bellies are certainly getting bigger!

IMG_1316

Faceplant sleeping!

IMG_1313

Pampi likes to watch them sleep. I love this photo of him watching them.

IMG_1310

Minnie would like you to know that Day 10 is definitely a cuter day for her than previous days!

IMG_1274

She will prove it by looking at you with her soul-eating eyes!

IMG_1302

Monte (I’m pretty sure) wants in on the cute action!

IMG_1275

And Claire (again, pretty sure)

IMG_1284

In fact, they would like team up to show you how cute they are!

Kittens, as fashion accessories! They go with everything!

IMG_1297

Black kittens are the new black!

IMG_1293

Sleepy kittens with big bellies are cute! Fact!

IMG_1275

Did I mention that Minnie is totally working the cute? Tell me – am I wrong?

And for comparison’s sake – my lap on cute, at 10 days old!

This was a ridiculous combination of cute and sleep. Minnie was playing whappy paws in David’s hand, so I whipped out the camera. Nearly instantly she fell asleep, with her eyes open, and continued twitching. It was SO cute and silly!

Phew! I will try to get the next post up a bit quicker, that way you can enjoy their progress more real-time :)

Pampi is such an excellent big brudder! Maybe it’s a tuxedo thing? Mine did something similar for one of my bottle babies.
