Bad kitten-blogger, bad! I have had adoptions, and new kittens come in, more than once, and haven’t even blogged them! I realized I was waiting until I had time to do the perfect post, and wasn’t getting ANY post done at all! That’s just silly!
So I’ll start from now, and if I get so inspired, I might even go *gasp* backwards, and show other pictures from earlier. This offends my sensibilities, somewhat, but really, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t matter!
Current fosters are Butterfly and Bug:
This is the ever-sweet flompy girl Butterfly:
And this is the snuggly girl Bug, in one of her natural habitats:
They are both spayed and ready to be adopted! They are Anje’s foster kittens, so there is an adoption fee and application. The fee includes their first shots, the spaying, defleaing, deworming, and they’ve been tested negative for nasties. They were her bottle babies, but then she got a real live HUMAN foster baby, and these two were too interested in him, so she asked me if I would take them. She didn’t have to ask twice, and I’ve had them for the last two months. They are SO sweet!
In addition, as a favor to her (and she was doing it as a favor for a friend of hers) I took in three slightly older kitties. She was told they were about 5 weeks, but they were probably closer to 7. They are a little scaredy at times, although they’re getting better. I really prefer to start with bottle babies, but there is a certain charm in trying to convince nervous kittens that pettings are GOOD!
These kittens are made of FLUFF and cute! And that’s about it 😉
Meet Puff, who is the first to really get how wonderful laps are, and pettings. He will come over specifically for loving, rather than having it forced upon him.
His brother Fluff, who has a fast purr, and will sometimes come to beckoning fingers for pets, but will always enjoy them if you give them as he walks by, or if you approach him (but not too fast, or he’ll startle!)
And then their sister, nStuff (shut up, “Puff, nStuff, and Fluff” is a GREAT set of names for SUPER fluffy kitties! It is! Besides, Aidon came up with nStuff, including the capitalization scheme. Sorry, “capitalisation” – he’s British.)
The spent their first week here destroying our bathroom. Kittens are fun that way. They started out like this:
But they quickly started exploring and playing whappy paws from the bathtub:
And realizing that people were for climbing on!
So I moved them to my office, where they could play like real kittens, and get to meet the other kitties, etc. Also, I can spend a LOT more time with them in the office, compared to sitting in the bathroom!
These three got spayed and neutered a couple of days ago, and will be ready for adoption in a week or so. They are Anje’s fosters, also, and so the same fee, application, and benefits apply.
Thank you so much for the updates! Your work is such an inspiration to so many of us!
I have almost got curtis talked in to adopting a forever kitty!!!:)
