I am inexplicably bereft of new kittens at the end of March. I don’t get it. It should be kitten season! My dear friend, and repeat-customer, Les has been fostering some older kittens, mostly trap/neuter/release ferals, but she caught one that must have been a pet – she’s sweet and ready for a home! Here’s what Les has to say on the kitty!
Rho is a sweet young lady who is looking for her forever home. She started living under the shed in my back yard in January, and I trapped her in February. I was surprised to find how sweet and calm she was– a bit scared, but nothing like I’d expect from a feral cat. I suspect that she was someone’s pet when she was small, and she remembers how good humans can be. Kimberly is an expert in bottle babies– she fostered Xi, Omicron and Pi, who were born in my shed, but I foster the older ones.
Rho has amazingly soft grey fur which turns to brown near the tips on her back. The way the light catches her ankles and ears, they look silver. The first night that she slept in the bed with me, she was snuggled under the sheets by my calves, and I dreamed of bunnies. She has green eyes, and a tendency to relax with her paws tucked under.
She’s very comfortable being picked up and being carried around. I expect that she’d be patient with children. She’s not particularly playful– she doesn’t pounce on moving objects or chase the laser pointer, so would be good for someone who is looking for kitteny cuteness without kitteny rambunctiousness. She has a great rumbly purr, and purrs easily. The first time I picked her up, she was “making biscuits” on my chest and purring. She’s amenable to having her nails trimmed and her coat brushed.
A response here, or to me, and I’ll pass it along, will certainly get Les’s attention!
(And don’t forget – there’s still one Kimberly Kitten from last year available – the cutie Pampi with his adorable white toes and tuxedo markings and flompy cuddliness!)
I’ve put up a listing for Rho on Craigslist, in the hopes of finding her a new home.
Tomorrow I’m volunteering with the spay/neuter van, and would be lovely to find a home for this foster, in case anyone else needs a foster home.
