The mother in the family who adopted Kiki has been wonderful about updating me periodically about how Kiki is doing. Last week she emailed and asked if I had any suggestions about keeping her (um, Kiki, not the mother!) from eating a tree in their house, and I suggested several things, including a squirt bottle. I did suggest that she might want to really think about the squirt bottle alternative, with two little boys in the house. That could potentially be a recipe for a (wet!) disaster! 😉
I hadn’t heard back, which was fine, until today, when I got this completely awesome email with PICS!
Kimberly,
Kiki is totally at home! My older son, Mason, has taken complete responsibility over her (aside from the litter box!) and I can tell Kiki recognizes that he is her caregiver as she is very loyal to him. Preston loves playing with Kiki and cuddling her. All is going well. She responds well to the spray bottle (and the kids don’t get to do it!), they are just my look outs.
I haven’t gotten a good picture of her and the dog, but they are great buddies now.
Sincerely,
Anna
Okay seriously now, how cute are her kids? I mean, really! Here was the pic with the younger son, Preston, during the first few days they had her:
And here are the pics with Mason, that she sent to me tonight:
This is totally the very BEST part of fostering kittens. I mean, playing with tiny kittens is AWESOME, but these boys are going to grow up totally owned by this kitty, and it will shape their whole lives. This was a PERFECT pairing of kitty with family, and I just LOVE it when that happens! And it happens more often than not, actually, by a long shot!
Anna, if you happen to read this – I can’t thank you enough for the updates! They make my heart smile! I *knew* when I met you and Preston that you were Kiki’s family, and I’m so glad she went to you!
Kiki has successfully adopted her people!
Just testing the reply system – did you get notification of this?
